| Interesting point came up in conversation at church today: What, exactly, is the point of a boomerang?
After all, if it's a weapon, it doesn't come back after you hit something wiht it. If it's for it to come back to you, you're just expending energy to throw something that doesn't go anywhere. You might as well just use a normal stick.
Someone, please, explain.

| Please pray for the Church in Turkey. "Don't pray against persecution, pray for perseverence," urges Pastor Fikret Bocek. This transpired merely 9 days ago (warning: there is a graphic but not gratuitous description of the torture): https://www.crescentproject.org/pdfs/turkish_slayings.pdf And already we are seeing fruit -- on the reaction to one of the wives' forgiveness of the killers: In a country where blood-for-blood revenge is as normal as breathing, many many reports have come to the attention of the church of how this comment of Susanne Tilman has changed lives. One columnist wrote of her comment, "She said in one sentence what 1000 missionaries in 1000 years could never do." My parents are currently in Turkey with a group from my home church -- they left on Tuesday. How felicitous. Maybe, just maybe they can be used to help strengthen the church there. |

| Today, Today I am gloriously convinced that He is pleased with me not because of what I have done but because of what He is doing in me

| I've finally decided for sure what I'm doing next year -- I'm going to defer enrollment into the Library Information Sciences program for one year and work at Riverbed in Urbana. While I'm working, I'm also going to try to take at least a class or two, which might even be reimbursed by the company. As for Microsoft, I rejected BillG ;) It's just not the right time for me to work there -- not that I'm precluding working for them in the future, maybe even as a summer intern =D I'm extremely excited and glad to put this decision behind me =) Now to find housing..... |

| I got into the Library and Information Sciences PhD program!!! With an assistantship (tuition waiver + stipend)!!! AHHHHHHHH!!! And my assigned advisor is an awesome guy.. one of the reasons I started considering LIS in the first place! (Mike Twidale, for those of you in the know ;)) Wow, if I accept, I'll be on campus until at least 2011... |
